How to Fix Poor Performance, Lag, or Overheating
Augmented reality asks your phone to do a lot at once - run the camera, process 3D graphics, track motion, and detect surfaces in real-time. Some warmth and occasional slowdown is normal, especially on older phones.

- Close all other apps - free up memory and processing power
- Turn off Low Power Mode - it throttles the GPU which directly affects 3D rendering
- Keep sessions shorter - performance tends to degrade in longer sessions (10+ minutes) as the phone heats up
- Let your phone cool down - if it's already warm before starting, give it a minute
- Remove your phone case - cases trap heat and can cause faster thermal throttling
- Avoid direct sunlight - heat from the sun adds to the phone's thermal load
- Make sure you're using the latest version of your browser
- Check that your phone's OS is up to date
- Restart your phone and try again with no other apps open
